حجبت بالدَّمعِ أجفاني عن النظرِ

إلى سواكَ وقلبي الصبّ بالفكرِ

My eyes are veiled with tears from seeing anyone but you

And my passionate heart is filled with thoughts of you

وزادَ دمعيَ عمَّا كنت أطلبه

فلا تسلْ ما جرَى منه على صبرِي

And my tears increased from what I had hoped for

So do not question what has flowed from my patience

يا باسماً قلت للاَّحي أمبسمه

أبهى أم العقدُ قال الكلّ من دُرَرِ

O one whose smile I told the teeth is more radiant

Or is it the pearl necklace? Everyone says it is made of pearls

سهرت في الوصلِ غنماً والجفا أسفاً

سبحان فاطر أجفاني على السهرِ

I stayed up at night happily united, and sadly separated

Glory to the Creator of my sleepless eyes
