أهان وزير الشام قصديَ عندما

طلبت من الميراث بعضَ الدراهم

The minister of Damascus humiliated me when

I asked for some coins from the inheritance

وقال اصرفوها لابن آدم كلها

فأيقنت أني عنده غير آدمي

And he said, "Spend it all on the son of Adam."

So I knew that to him, I was less than human.
