1. بستان حسن لا عدمت قطافَهُ

    لثماً يسلّفني السرور سلافَهُ

    A garden of beauty, may its harvest never cease

    A kiss that lends me joy as a gift of peace

  2. يختال في مرحِ الشباب كأنما

    هزت حمائم حليه أعطافَهُ

    Prancing in youth’s delight as though

    Doves shook their bracelets free from their sleeves

  3. في وصفه الأغزال خصّ مديحها

    ملك البسيطة لا تريد خلافَهُ

    To describe it, gazelles vie in praise

    The King of the Plain brooks no dissent

  4. الناصر بن الناصر بن قلاون الم

    نصور جانسَ نصره أسلافَهُ

    Al-Nasir son of Al-Nasir son of Qalawoon

    Whose victorious aid his ancestors lent

  5. خضعت لعزَّته الملوك وأذعنت

    لأغرّ أمَّله الزمان وخافَهُ

    To his glory kings bowed and swore fealty

    For he is the hope time itself has sent

  6. خدمته حتَّى أنجم مرِّيخها

    لو عاد كسرى ظنَّه سيَّافَهُ

    They served him until his planet Mars

    Rose high, and the Sasanians repent

  7. ولو أن ذا الأكتاف سابوراً عصى

    أمراً لقطَّعت العصا أكتافَهُ

    Had Sapor rebelled against his command

    He'd sever the neck that dared dissent
