حتّامَ فيكم أعاني الشوق وأقاسي

وأذوب رقة وكل منكم قاسي

I suffer longing among you and endure

And melt with tenderness though each of you is harsh

أما بكم من طبيب لعلة الياسِ

بمرهم اللطف مجروح الحشا ياسي

Is there no physician among you for my despair

With a balm of kindness for one whose hopes are crushed
