وَأَراكَةٍ ضَرَبَت سَماءً فَوقَنا

تَندى وَأَفلاكُ الكُؤوسِ تُدارُ

And a bouquet struck a sky above us

Dewy, and the stars' cups revolve

حَفَّت بِدَوحَتِها مَجَرَّةُ جَدوَلٍ

نَثَرَت عَلَيهِ نُجومَها الأَزهارُ

A stream wrapped in its basin a galaxy

It scattered its flowers-stars over it

وَكَأَنَّها وَكَأَنَّ جَدوَلَ مائِها

حَسناءُ شُدَّ بِخَصرِها زِنّارُ

As if it and as if its water's stream

A beauty tightened around her waist a belt

زَفَّ الزُجاجُ بِها عَروسَ مُدامَةٍ

تُجلى وَنُوّارُ الغُصونِ نِثارُ

Crystal bubbled with a drunk bride

Illuminated, and the branches' lights scatter

في رَوضَةٍ جِنحُ الدُجى ظِلٌّ بِها

وَتَجَسَّمَت نَوراً بِها الأَنوارُ

In a garden, the wings of night are shade in it

And lights materialized into light in it

غَنّاءَ يَنشُرُ وَشيَهُ البَزّازُ لي

فيها وَيَفتُقُ مِسكَهُ العَطّارُ

A singer spreads his clothes'-seller's ostentation for me

In it, and his perfume-seller's musk splits open

قامَ الغِناءُ بِها وَقَد نَضَحَ النَدى

وَجهَ الثَرى وَاِستَيقَظَ النُوّارُ

Singing stood up in it, and the dew had poured

The earth's face, and the lights woke up

وَالماءُ مِن حَليِ الحَياءِ مُقَلَّدٌ

زَرَّت عَلَيهِ جُيوبَها الأَشجارُ

And the water is adorned with the life's bashfulness' jewelry

Its trees draped their pockets over it
