1. دِن دينَ مُعتَمِلٍ في اللَهِ مُبتَهِلٍ

    وَعَدِّ عَن سِرِّ عَلَمٍ ثُمَّ مُختَزَنِ

    The religion of one devout in God, beseeching

    And count away from the secret of a banner then treasured

  2. وَلا تَقِف بِطِوالِ الكُتبِ تَسأَلُها

    فَلَستَ تَحظى بِغَيرِ الهَمِّ وَالحَزَنِ

    And do not stand by the length of books asking them

    For you will not obtain but worry and grief

  3. وَكُن إِذا اِلتَقَتِ الأَرماحُ سافِلَةً

    فَرُبَّما اِندَقَّ صَدرُ العامِلِ اليَزني

    And be when the spears meet lowly

    For perhaps the chest of the diligent piercer may gush
