أَطَلَّ وَقَد خُطَّ في خَدِّهِ
مِنَ الشَعرِ سَطرٌ دَقيقُ الحُروفِ
He appeared, with a line traced upon his cheek—
a line of down, its lettering exquisitely fine.
فَقُلتُ أَرى الشَمسَ مَكسوفَةً
فَقوموا نُصَلّي صَلاةَ الكُسوفِ
So I said, “I see the sun eclipsed.”
“Then rise, you two, that we may perform the eclipse prayer.”
