رُبَّما اِستَضحَكَ الحَبابَ حَبيبٌ
نَفَضَت ثَوبَها عَلَيهِ المُدامُ
Perhaps a lover laughed at the delights of love,
As she shook off her garment upon him, the wine poured down.
كُلَّما مَرَّ قاصِراً مِن خُطاهُ
يَتهادى كَما يَمُرُّ الغَمامُ
Whenever he passed by with shortened steps,
He swayed as the clouds drift along.
سَلَّمَ الغُصنُ وَالكَثيبُ عَلَينا
فَعَلى الغُصنِ وَالكَثيبِ السَلامُ
The branch and the hill bid us farewell,
So peace be upon the branch and the hill!
