وَمَغارٍ رَكِبتُ أَدهَمَ مِعطا
لاً إِلَيهِ وَظَهَرَ أَشهَبَ حالي
I rode a tawny camel towards him
While my gray-haired mount appeared worn out
جالَ في أَنجُمٍ مِن الحَليِ بيضٍ
وَقَميصٍ مِنَ الصَباحِ مُذالِ
He wandered among white pearl-adorned stars
Wearing a shirt of dawn's first light
فَبَدا الصُبحُ مُلجَماً بِالثُرَيّا
وَجَرى البَرقُ مُسرَجاً بِالهِلالِ
So dawn broke, studded with Pleiades
And lightning galloped, saddled with the crescent moon
