1. أَلا ياحَبَّذا ضَحِكُ الحُمَيّا

    بِحانَتِها وَقَد عَبَسَ المَساءُ

    How wonderful is the laughter of the doves

    In their haunts when evening has frowned

  2. وَأَدهَمَ مِن جِيادِ الماءِ مُهرٍ

    تَنازَعُ جُلَّهُ ريحٌ رَخاءُ

    And from steeds of water a dusky colt

    Is disputed by a soft wind all over its body

  3. إِذا بَدَتِ الكَواكِبُ فيهِ غَرقى

    رَأَيتَ الأَرضَ تَحسُدُها السَماءُ

    When the stars appear drowned in it

    You see the earth envied by the sky
