I shake you not out of anger towards you

Though you be perfidious, treacherous, traitorous

But it is the nature of sword and whip to shake

If I precede the racers and arouse the dormant

None has shaken the sides of the noble steed

Like a fine-bred stallion shaking its mane

When the sword drinks not the blood boiling hot

Thirsty, it refuses to drink cold water

I had pinned my hopes on a shining full moon

To be ripped apart by a bare, sharper sword

Leaving brighter traces than the tail of a comet

And more luminous lines than the rising moon

What sprig is nobler in name, more high-reaching

Than our family line, pure and extending to water

With softer sides and better mettle

And sweeter nature and greener edges
