With a warbler, melodious with song,
The night of bliss is made brief.
Our youth’s journey was shortened by it
From an unripe night made into a moonlit one.
It flirted where wine glasses and flagons lay
With an orchard dripping and an eye watching.
The Pleiades incline with a yearning glance
As lightning flashed, red fragmented.
As if in drunkenness it bent its branch
Embraced by winds made luminous.
It filled sights and hearings with beauties—
I know not whether to listen or gaze.
