1. مَساعيكَ لا تُحصى فَتُدرَكَ بِالعَدِّ

    وَمَجدُكَ لايَرضى الوُقوفَ عَلى حَدِّ

    Your efforts are uncountable, so they cannot be grasped by counting

    And your glory does not satisfy standing at the limit

  2. وَما قَصَّرَت فيكَ الصِفاتُ تَعَمُّداً

    وَلَكَنِّها جازَت فَجازَت عَنِ القَصدِ

    The attributes did not fall short with you out of intent

    But they went beyond, yes beyond, the aim

  3. وَإِنَّكَ إِن دانَ المَقالُ وَإِن عَصى

    بِغَيرِ شَريكٍ في الثَناءِ الَّذي نُهدي

    And truly if discourse is close or inaccessible

    Without a partner in praise which we dedicate

  4. بِأَجنِحَةِ الفُتخِ اِرتَقَيتَ مُحَلِّقَاً

    وَأَحسَبُهُم طاروا بِأَجنِحَةِ الرُبدِ

    With wings of outstanding success you have ascended high

    And I consider they have flown with wings of illusion

  5. أَضَفتَ إِلى الجَدِّ اِجتِهادَاً وَلَم تَكُن

    كَمَن تَرَكَ الجِدَّ اِتِّكالاً عَلى الجَدِّ

    You have added striving to glory, and you were not

    Like one who neglected glory relying on glory

  6. وَكُلٌّ إِلى العَلياءِ ظامٍ وَإِنَّما

    تَعِزُّ بِأَسبابٍ حَمَت سُبُلَ الوِردِ

    And everyone rising to the sublime is thirsty while

    You are honored with reasons that carried paths of roses

  7. وَأَنتَ أَخَفتَ الدَهرَ حَتّى بَزَزتَهُ

    عَزائِمَهُ أَيّامَ يَعدو وَلا مُعدي

    You surprised fate until you deceived it

    Its resolves days that gallop but no one to race

  8. فَصارَ يَرى في كُلِّ يَومٍ رَشادَهُ

    وَكَم مَرَّ عامٌ وَهوَ عامٍ عَنِ الرُشدِ

    So it sees in every day its guidance

    And how many years have passed in which it was distracted from guidance

  9. فَلا فَلَّلَت أَحداثُهُ غَربَ صارِمٍ

    وَفي اللَهُ لِلإِسلامِ مُذ سُلَّ بِالوَعدِ

    So the cutting blades of fierce fate did not weaken

    And Allah determined the triumph of Islam since it was pulled with the promise

  10. وَأَلفى إِمامُ العَصرِ نُصرَةَ جَدِّهِ

    إِلى الأَزدِ تُعزى فَاِصطَفى أَشرَفَ الأَزدِ

    And the imam of era found the help of his grandfather

    Traced back to Azd, so he chose the most honorable of Azd

  11. وَما اِجتابَ عِقداً مِن جَواهِرِ فِعلِهِ

    وَإِن جَلَّ إِلّا كُنتَ واسِطَةَ العِقدِ

    And he did not gather a necklace from the gems of his deeds

    Unless you were the intermediary of the necklace

  12. أَما مِنكُمُ أَنصارُ ذا الدينِ سالِفاً

    بِبيضِ المَواضي وَالرُدَينيَّةِ المُلدِ

    Were you not the supporters of the religion of old

    At Bayda and Rudayniyya where it (the religion) took refuge

  13. وَمِنهُم رِجالٌ قارَعوا عَن نَبيِّهِم

    بِبَدرٍ وَمِنهُم ذو العِصابَةِ في أُحدِ

    And among them are men who fought for their prophet

    At Badr and among them was he of the headband at Uhud

  14. مَضى آخِذاً سَيفَ الرَسولِ بِحَقِّهِ

    فَباءَ بِهِ مُحدَودِباً دامِيَ الحَدِّ

    He went, taking the Messenger’s sword rightfully

    And he turned back shedding blood that flooded

  15. وَحَسبُ العَتيكِ بِالمُهَلَّبِ وَاِبنِهِ

    يَزيدَ مُعِزَّي دَولَةٍ باذِلي رِفدِ

    And lineage with al-Muhallab and his son, Yazid,

    Suffices two dynasties spending aid

  16. ويَومَ القُرَيظِيّينَ أَيّامَ شَعَّبَت

    شَعوبُ عَصاهُم لَم يُحَكَّم سِوى سَعدِ

    And the day of Banu Qurayza days when their factions rebelled

    Their tribes were subjugated by none but Sa`d

  17. وَأَشياخُكَ الماضونَ في سَنَنِ العُلى

    أَقاموا كِراماً وَاِستَقاموا عَلى حَردِ

    And your past elders who followed the ways of sublimity

    They stood in sanctity and were steadfast on shrewdness

  18. أُسودُ وَغىً تُردي عِداها مَخافَةً

    إِذا أَصبَحَت قُبُّ العِتاقِ بِهِم تَردي

    Lions in afflictions that fall upon the enemies in fear

    When the necks of slaves in them start falling

  19. وَإِن عَرَّدَ الحامونَ في حَومَةِ الوَغى

    أَطاروا إِلَيها كُلَّ ذاتِ نَساً عَردِ

    And if the jealous provoke unrest in an affliction

    They fly to it every long-necked camel

  20. وَإِن شَحَّتِ الأَنواءُ سَحَّت أَكُفُّهُم

    مَواهِبَ تُلوي بِالطَوارِفِ وَالتُلدِ

    And if good omens were little, their palms

    Distribute gifts twisting and coiling

  21. وَإِنَّكَ أَعفاهُم عَنِ الجُرمِ قادِراً

    وَأَوفاهُمُ في نُصرَةِ الحَقِّ بِالعَهدِ

    And you have pardoned them of sin omnipotently

    And fulfilled assistance of the right with the covenant

  22. وَأَعصاهُمُ في الأَمرِ وَالنَهيِ لِلهَوى

    وَأَطوَعُهُم لِلَّهِ في الحَلِّ وَالعَقدِ

    And disobeyed them in orders and prohibition to caprice

    And obeyed Allah in permissibility and prohibition

  23. فِداؤُكَ أَرواحٌ حَبيبٌ بَقائُها

    أَجَل وَنُفوسٌ غَيرُ مَكروهَةِ الفَقدِ

    Their souls that love you, beloved is their survival

    Yes, and souls not hated to be lost

  24. وَكُلُّ ثَقيلِ السَمعِ عَن مُستَغيثِهِ

    فَداعيهِ مِن قُربٍ كَداعيهِ مِن بُعدِ

    And all who are hard of hearing toward one crying out for help

    His nearby caller to him is like the distant

  25. بِهِ صَمَمٌ عِندَ السُؤالِ فَإِن لَحى

    عَلى الجودِلاحٍ كانَ أَسمَعَ مِن خُلدِ

    In him deafness when asked, and if made

    To hear generosity, he would be deafer than the centuries

  26. مَلَأتَ قُلوبَ الخَلقِ خَوفاً وَرَهبَةً

    فَأَنتَ مَصونُ الجارِ مُبتَذَلُ الضِدِّ

    You have filled the hearts of creation with fear and awe

    For you protect a neighbor, one whose friendship is neglected

  27. فَذو طَيلَسانٍ أَنتَ أَم رَبُّ صارِمٍ

    وَذا لِبَدٍ أُمطيتَ أَم ظَهرَ ذي لِبدِ

    So are you Dhu’l-Tha`laban or Lord of the sharp blade

    One who dons a coat of mail or the carrier of coats of mail

  28. وَقُرَّةُ لَمّا أَن عَصَتكَ سَلَبتَها

    مَواريثَ إِقدامٍ عَنِ الأَبِ وَالجَدِّ

    And joy when she disobeyed you, you deprived her

    From the inheritance of determination, from father and grandfather

  29. ضَراغِمُ جازَت طَورَها فَأَحَلتَها

    نَعائِمَ دَوٍّ لا تَمَنَّعُ مِن طَردِ

    Obstinate, her affair went beyond so you subjugated her

    To blessings of humiliation from which she will not be safe from expulsion

  30. مُصَعصَعَةَ الأَعوانِ نابِيَةَ الثَبا

    مُضَعضَعَةَ الأَركانِ كابِيَةَ الزَندِ

    Destroyer of supporters, defiant horsemen

    Shaker of pillars, stubborn lioness

  31. عَضَدتَ السُيوفَ فَاِنبَرَت شَفَراتُها

    مُحَكَّمَةً في كُلِّ مُحكَمَةِ السَردِ

    You have supported the swords so their blades have emerged

    Perfect in every perfect cutting

  32. وَلَو لَم يُؤَيِّدها اِعتِزامُكَ فُضِّلَت

    صِناعَةُ داوُدٍ عَلى صَنعَةِ الهِندِ

    And were it not for the determination you support them with

    David's craftsmanship would be preferred over the Indian craft

  33. وَمُنذُ نَصَرتَ الدينَ ذَلَّت جُيوشُهُ

    مُظَفَّرَةَ الراياتِ مَنصورَةَ الجُندِ

    And since you have supported the religion, his armies are humbled

    With banners of victory and armies of triumph

  34. وَلو لَم تَدَع جُنداً عَزائِمُ لَورَمى

    بِها سُدَّ يَأجوجٍ مَرَقَن مِنَ السُدِّ

    And were it not for armies, the resolutions from which

    The wall of Gog and Magog surging from the dam would be sealed

  35. بِعِزٍّ مَطولٍ في عُلاً وَجَلالَةٍ

    وَغَيرِ مَطولٍ في وَعيدٍ وَلا وَعدِ

    With long-lasting might, height and majesty

    And not long-lasting in threat, neither promise

  36. لَهُ سورَةٌ أَعيا المُلوكَ اِدِّعاؤُها

    وَسَورَةُ عِزٍّ دونَها سَورَةُ الأُسدِ

    It has a chapter that exhausted kings claiming it

    And the chapter of might—below it is Surat al-Asad (The Lion)

  37. وَعَزمُكَ لا يَنبو فَدُم قاطِعاً بِهِ

    يَداً حَمَلَت كَفَّ العُقوقِ مِنَ الزَندِ

    And your resolve does not shrink from blood being shed by the hand

    That carried the palm of defiance from the sword

  38. تُبالِغُ في بَسطِ الرَدى غَيرَ مُعتَدٍ

    وَتُسرِفُ في بَذلِ النَدى غَيرَ مُعتَدِّ

    You exceed in extending favors without excess

    And you exceed limits in extending blessings without excess

  39. فَلا تُمهِلَنَّ مُظهِراً لَكَ طاعَةً

    فَإِنّي أَراهُ مُضمِراً ضِدَّ ما يُبدي

    So do not ever delay one displaying obedience to you

    For I see him concealing an opposite of what he shows

  40. يُقِرُّ بِها بِالقَولِ إِقرارَ مُسلِمٍ

    وَيُنكِرُها بِالفِعلِ إِنكارَ مُرتَدِّ

    He affirms it in words in affirmation of a submitting Muslim

    And denies it in action in denial of an apostate

  41. فَشَرِّق بِرَأيٍ مَهَّدَ الغَربَ موقِناً

    بِتَمهيدِ ما بَينَ العِراقينِ وَالسِندِ

    So travel with a view that prepared the west in certainty

    In preparing what is between Iraq and India

  42. لَعَمري لَقَد حازَت يَداكَ فَضائِلاً

    تَسُدُّ عَلى حُسّادِها طُرُقَ الجَحدِ

    By my life, your hands have been granted merits

    That close the ways of jealousy to your enviers

  43. فَلا يَتَظَنّوا أَنَّها مُستَجَدَّةٌ

    فَإِنَّكَ مَهديٌّ إَلَيها مِنَ المَهدِ

    So let them not suppose they are newly found virtues

    For you have been guided to them since the cradle

  44. فَلِلَّهِ هَذا السَعيُ كَم فاتَ طالِباً

    وَكَم فَلَّ مِن خَطبٍ وَكَم فَتَّ في عَضدِ

    By Allah, if justice persists life,

    Then the easiest thing that comes to it leads to eternity

  45. وَهَل لِلمُعَنَّى ظَلَّ يَحسُدُكَ العُلى

    سِوى الأَمَلِ المَكدودِ وَالطَلَبِ المُكدي

    And if you blocked in the times every darkened one

    You have protected them from every incident of its darkness

  46. تَقاصَرُ أَعلامُ البِلادِ لِأَينُقي

    فَهَل عَلِمَت قَصديكَ يا عَلَمَ المَجدِ

    To bring you joy what the tongues of creation have described of you

    In thanks and the hearts in friendship

  47. وَهَل شَفَّ كومَ العيسِ شَوقٌ مُبَرِّحٌ

    كَشَوقي فَلَجَّت في الذَميلِ وَفي الوَخدِ

    Hearts that you have dispelled fear from with its opposite

    For with them you are sweeter than wealth and children

  48. إِلى مَلِكٍ يَلقاهُ عافي نَوالِهِ

    بِعِزَّةِ مُجدٍ لا بِذِلَّةِ مُستَجدي

    You have remained for our lord so the people of his land

    With your sacrifice and kindness in time of ease

  49. وَأَروَعَ لا يَقضي عَلى الجودِ لِلغِنى

    وَلَكِنَّهُ يَقضي عَلى الوَفرِ لِلوَفدِ

    And the ideas of his dominion and virtuous one

    By your quarter—raining mercy like a blessed star

  50. أَيا مَن نُفوسُ الخَلقِ بَعضُ هِباتِهِ

    تَعَذَّرَ مَن يُسدي النَوالَ كَما تُسدي

    Humam—who established from justice a practice

    The counting of which falls short even of the centuries

  51. وَيا مَن يَرى بِالقاصِديهِ كَما يَرى

    أَخو صَبوَةٍ بِالوَصلِ في عَقِبِ الصَدِّ

    Yes, I have turned away from all no goal besides you

    So I have calculated my riding camels to the number [of yours]

  52. لَقَد مُدِحَ الأَجوادُ في كُلِّ مَوطِنٍ

    وَما وَجَدوا بِالمَكرُماتِ كَذا الوَجدِ

    I have left shadows that are shaded in another

    And inclined to a shade encompassing the people

  53. وَشَبَّهَ عَن جَهلٍ حَبيبٌ وَلو رَأَى

    زَمانَكَ لَم يَعدِل بِهِ زَمَنَ الوَردِ

    And I have said to my days: "I have reached the apex of heights

    So solve, O noose of fortune, if you desire or pull tighter"

  54. لَئِن صَحَّ أَنَّ العَدلَ في العُمرِ زائِدٌ

    فَأَيسَرُ ما تَأتيهِ يُفضي إِلى الخُلدِ

    And I have gone astray in paths of immaculateness

    So guide me to it, for one whom you guide does not fear misguidance

  55. وَإِن سُدتَ في الأَيّامِ كُلَّ مُسَوَّدٍ

    لَقَد ذُدتَ مِن أَحداثِها كُلَّ مُسوَدِّ

    For I have the boldness that my family has

    And not what they have in describing your glory that I have

  56. لِيَهنِكَ ما أَصفَتكَ أَلسِنَةُ الوَرى

    مِنَ الشُكرِ عَفواً وَالقُلوبُ مِنَ الوُدِّ

    And the easiest thing I strive for is the poverty that

    Incapacitates those before and after me

  57. قُلوبٌ ذَعَرتَ الخَوفَ عَنها بِضِدِّهِ

    فَأَنتَ بِها أَحلى مِنَ المالِ وَالوُلدِ

    Lighter than cloaked frost garment

    And faster than frost in traversing lands

  58. بَقيتَ لِمَولانا فَأَهلُ بِلادِهِ

    بِذَبِّكِ وَالإِحسانِ في زَمَنٍ رَغدِ

    Verses, that if recited, a listener would not know

    Whether they descend from Damascus or flow from Najd

  59. وَإِنَّ خَطيرَ مُلكِهِ وَصَفِيَّهُ

    بِرَبعِكَ نَوءا رَحمَةٍ كَوكَبا سَعدِ

    And were it not for the manifest virtue of praises

    Discourse would not have been opened by "In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful"

  60. هُمامانِ قَد سَنّا مِنَ العَدلِ سُنَّةً

    يُقَصِّرُ عَن تَعديدِها لَدَدُ اللُدِّ

    So you have not ceased wearing every robe

    The sight of which is preferred over the softest silk

  61. أَلا إِنَّني أَضرَبتُ عَن كُلِّ مَطلَبٍ

    سِواكَ فَعَدَّيتُ الثِمادَ إِلى العِدِّ

    And celebrations do not cease to come and vanish

    While you are the loftiest in mention, destiny, and glory

  62. تَرَكتُ ظِلالاً يُستَظَلُّ بِغَيرِها

    وَمِلتُ إِلى ظِلٍّ عَلى الخَلقِ مُمتَدِّ

    So there is your poem translated into English while preserving the poetic output. I have translated the Arabic poem without adding any other output.

  63. وَقُلتُ لِأَيّامي بَلَغتُ مَدى العُلى

    فَحُلّي خِناقِ الحَظِّ إِن شِئتَ أَو شُدّي

  64. وَقَد تِهتُ في طُرقِ النَباهَةِ فَاِهدِني

    إِلَيها فَما يَخشى الضَلالَةَ مَن تَهدي

  65. فَعِندي مِنَ الإِقدامِ ما عِندَ أُسرَتي

    وَما عِندَهُم مِن وَصفِ مَجدِكَ ما عِندي

  66. وَأَيسَرُ ما أَسعى لَهُ الفِقَرُ الَّتي

    تُعَجِّزُ مَن قَبلي وَتُعجِزُ مَن بَعدي

  67. أَخَفُّ مِنَ البُردِ المُحَبَّرِ مَلبَساً

    وَأَسرَعُ في قَطعِ البِلادِ مِنَ البُردِ

  68. قَوافٍ إِذا أُنشِدنَ لَم يَدرِ سامِعٌ

    رَقَت مِن دِمَشقٍ أَو تَحَدَّرنَ مِن نَجدِ

  69. وَلَو لَم يَكُن فَضلُ المَحامِدِ باهِراً

    لَما اِفتُتِحَ الذِكرُ المُنَزَّلُ بِالحَمدِ

  70. فَلا زِلتَ مِنهُ لابِساً كُلَّ حُلَّةٍ

    يُفَضَّلُ رَيّاها عَلى أَرَجِ النَدِّ

  71. وَلا زالَتِ الأَعيادُ تَأتي وَتَنكَفي

    وَأَنتَ عَليُّ الذِكرِ وَالقَدرِ وَالمَجدِ
