إذا ما بذلت الوعد من دون حاجة

فقصير بما تستطيع من عمر الوعد

If you make a promise without need

Then make it as brief as you can

وإياك والخلفَ الذميمَ وخلقه

فقد قيل خلفُ الوعد من خُلُقِ الوغد

And beware of disgraceful betrayal and its nature

For it's said "Betrayal of a promise is the trait of a scoundrel"
