Before his love I was not like Ahwur's willow,

To know what passion dwells in Ahwur's willow.

You see a shining brow beneath a fillet,

Like dawn's first light within a silken veil.

When by his glances' arrows he is stricken,

Though not a day of storming winds and rain,

Next day for solace he is madness-smitten,

With cheeks like liquid pearls in ivory pale.
