O minister supreme, how excellent and generous is your rule!
The stars in their orbits stand still before your glory.
Gentle are their eyes towards you,
When the guards of your glory rise up.
You have become, O king of eloquence,
The stars but soldiers in your host.
They yearn for your call, so the clouds
Make blossoms of your praise bloom from it.
The daughters of thought kneel before you,
While the sons of purpose escort them to you.
Like doves murmuring with praise
In the collars which supply your court.
Time has gripped me -
For my estate after you is desolation.
Gone is all praise unless it be
To extol your ascent and loneliness.
I have restrained all but you - and never
Shall there be a life as long as your promise.
