1. وأشجار موز نزلنا بها

    فيا شكر الله ألطافها

    And banana trees where we descended,

    Oh, thank God for His kind blessings.

  2. حلا طعمها ونما عرفها

    لذائقها ومن استافها

    Sweet is their taste and well-known their fragrance,

    Pleasant for tongues and whoever savored it.

  3. فمن كان ضيع أضيافه

    فليست تضيع أضيافها

    Whoever hosted and was careless with guests,

    It does not fail to host guests.

  4. كخضر البنود إذا نشرت

    وجاذبت الريح أعطافا

    Like the green pods when blossomed

    And the wind draws its edges.

  5. وإلا القدود عذارى رقص

    ن فظلت تناقل أسيافها

    Unless chaste, slender palm trees dance,

    Remaining exchanging its swords.

  6. فلو كنت في قيد غير النهى

    لقمت فقبلت أطرافها

    If I were bound in ties other than prohibitions,

    I would bite then kiss its tips.
