The most enjoyable time is youth and its innocence,

Compared to the straightness of the youth even the soul is more crooked,

Its perils have flowed and its glances have trilled,

So they are two singing birds and its past is the dazzling sword,

Its condition is not blindness but overflow,

The Frankish sword spilled with its striking,

Its honor increased through that and its protection,

So when it is unsheathed you will see a gilded sword.
