ولي صاحبً لا حاطه الله صاحباً

به الشر ما بين الخلائق يخلقُ

I have a friend whom God did not make a friend

Evil is created through him among people

وقالوا لقد أعطيتَ شهماً موفقاً

فقلت لهم بل ذاك سهمٌ مفوَّقُ

And they said, “You have given a successful arrow”

I said to them, “No, that is a split arrow”
