How many sighs are there between the fleeting mixture
Of a tearful gaze and a fading body
And a longing soul that has departed
And one who stays is amazed by the one who leaves
He would not have blamed in youth and in sorrow
If the blamer's heart had tasted love
They left smoothly in howdahs, unharmed
While a passionate one weeps in dwellings, distressed
I grieve for those cheeks, adorned
By the like of withering branches
Protected by whiteness, and they are tables of generosity
Like boughs among streams
The deadly ones, though the wonder of love is
The slain's agony by them, and the killer's safety
I keep harvesting with glances
From them the fruits of my youth and nightingales
A necklace of two moons, a stance of an hour
Bountifully, but how can the miser's bounty be?
How can I reach you in the darkness of night
With the stars of dark lines not setting?
How many a night has been long like your hair in sorrow
Shortened like my patience by the imagining connection
I complain to it of my malady, but its heart is silent
And the speech of the flowing scarf answers me
The horizon fears not the dawn with suspicion
Nor the dying night's cheek with depletion
In other than this, a blamer blames
And I was blamed, so where is the hearing of the receiver?
What is it to me and to days that claim
To make peace with me, but fight my battles?
The world betrayed me, and I seek its victory
Yet seeking victory from treachery is futile
So I will wear the armor of endurance
To mock the arrows of critics
And I will praise calamities that have flung
My hopes to the Almighty, Just King
