ألا إنَّ بالبطحاءِ يا أمَّ مالكٍ

ألا إنَّ بالبطحاءِ يا أمَّ مالكٍ

نواهدَ يسلبنَ الحليمَ التجلُّدا

نواهدَ يسلبنَ الحليمَ التجلُّدا

Lo, indeed in al-Baṭḥāʾ, O Umm Mālik,

O mother of Malik, indeed in the open land

are maidens with budding breasts who rob the forbearing man of his composure.
