وياسمين حبانا طيبَ منظرِه
وقد تبدَّتْ من الصبح التبَاشِيرُ
And jasmine bestowed on us the delight of its aspect,
and already dawn’s glad tidings had appeared.
كأنّه مذ تبدّا في مطالعِه
فوقَ العروش تناغيه الأزاهيرُ
As though, from the moment it appeared at its points of rising
above the trellises, the blossoms whispered to it:
لآليء بسطتْ منها لنا غُرَرٌ
جرى بها من يواقيتٍ أساريرُ
Bright brow-blazes spread out pearls from it for us;
through them coursed fine lines of rubies.
