  1. May you enjoy a happy morning and live safely in life’s fullest ease,

    carefree and secure in a fertile abode,

  2. as long as the breeze of favor wafts over the mea—

    —dow, making every tender branch sway.

  3. Then the lover conveys it, after offering a salu—

    —tation that comes bearing fragrance and perfume,

  4. and praise—as long as the life-giving rain visits the garden at dawn and gre—

    —ets its meadows with their share,

  5. so its blossoms flourish, and there begins to smile

    the chamomile, from every gleaming-toothed mouth—

  6. from a heart that declares the beauty of my devotion,

    pure toward Your Excellency, untouched by taint.

  7. Then he conveys it, after describing a longing—

    for the dearest Presence—a longing that fills all hearts.
