صوت ابن منقارٍ الذُّ من المنى

ما راح منسوباً إلى منقاره

The voice of the son of a beak that sings from yearning

Is not attributed to his beak

يثني الحمام فلا يروح لكركر

طرباً ورقَّ بنيه في منقاره

The dove coos but does not go to warble

With joy, calling his chicks in his beak
