يا مُنْتَهى النَّفسِ سِرْ لنا عَجِلاً

وانهضْ سريعاً وشَرِّفِ المجلسْ

O my soul's desire, come quickly

And rise up swiftly and grace this gathering

فعندنا أوْجُهُ المحاسِنِ في

جَيْبِنَا والسُّلاَفُ والنرجسْ

For in our midst are the essence of beauty

In our pockets, conversation and narcissus
