O you who gently guides the ornamented ode,
And spreads a cool breeze from the perfumed apparel,
You have brought us a cup of affection overflowing with bliss,
And adorned a garden for song to twitter delightedly.
It appeared to my eyes, O impassioned one,
Who stroked a reproach like a gentle breeze.
Return to me melodies to the hearing of an Arab
Who relaxes casually upon a reed mat.
And provide him with the confidences of speech, perhaps
I may utter a conversation that was once concealed.
And spread from the pages of reproach, and maybe
I confess to the birds of passion to sing.
May Allah reward us for the feast, with goodness,
With your heart ennobling it above estimation.
And may He give it life from a feast that caused the meeting,
And perhaps Allah will unite the two estranged ones after what
You disavowed in the religion of loyalty and complained
If only the religion of affection were prognosticated.
So greet with your mirrors of eyes, for it
Will become with the next state a feast and season.
You allowed it after excessive aloofness,
So my comfort returned after it had recoiled.
And you returned to the loyalty of my night, deceiving,
If only it had been a prognosticated debt.
And here I am appeasing you, not for a crime
I have committed, but I see it as destined.
