With yearning grief, the distance shed its tears,

She stood leaning, grasping my restraint.

She turned to me, and when she saw I would not cry for her,

She wept, and her crying eyelids wounded my heart.

She said, having seen the camels' litters ready,

And the distance had gathered the sorrowful and the complainers:

"Who do I have, when you are gone this year, I say to her:

God and the son of 'Ubaydallah are your Guardians."

"Do not grieve if the rain clouds turn away from you, for I have asked

The Pleiades to incline toward your resting place."
