تَحتَ الظَلام مُحتَجِباً

يَعتِبُني لا عَدِمتُ مَن عَتَبا

Beneath the darkness hiding

He reproaches me, for I lacked reproach

جاءَت بِلا مَوعِدٍ

قُلتُ مِنهُ المُنى فما اِحتَسَبا

She came without appointment

I said of it - desire, yet did not prepare

فاِعتَجبوا مِم مَلامَة جَلَبَت

لَيالــــــــي جَلَبا

So they were astonished at the blame brought

By nights that brought yearning
