1. لمتى تُموِّهُ بالمهاة وبالرشا

    وخفيُّ سرك في العوالم قد فشا

    For how long will you disguise with folly and evil,

    While your secret in the worlds has been divulged?

  2. صرح بمن تهوى وقل هو ما تروا

    يا عاذلون فعشقه ملأ الحشى

    Declare whom you love and say it is what you desire,

    O critics! For loving him has filled my heart.

  3. هو ظاهر وإن اختفى بالشمس أو

    بالبدر أوغصن الأراكة كيف شا

    He is manifest, even if hidden by the sun or

    The moon or a branch of the lotus - however he wished.

  4. قمر ومطلعه القلوب تحققاً

    ومغيبه الأوهام مظلمة الغشا

    A moon whose rising fills hearts with certainty

    And whose setting leaves fancies in darkness.

  5. شغفت به كل العقول وما درت

    لما تجلَّى بالجمال فأدهشا

    All minds are enamored with him, though they cannot grasp

    His beauty when he discloses it, so wondrous.

  6. فغرام هذا بالغوير ولعلع

    وغرام هذا بالمليح إذا مشى

    The love of this one is ardent and blazing,

    The love of that graceful one when he walks.

  7. فإذا اهتدوا عرفوا بمن شغفوا به

    واستأنس القلب الذي قد أوحشا

    When they find guidance, they will know whom they love,

    And the heart once lonely will find intimacy.

  8. وستائر الأوهام عنه تحولت

    والصبح أسفر وانقضى وقت العشا

    The veils of illusion fall away from him

    And dawn breaks, ending the night of revelry.

  9. نحن العصابة في شريعة أحمد

    حالاً وقالاً لا نميل إلى الرشى

    We are the group in the path of Ahmad,

    In words and deeds, no temptation can make us list.

  10. نرمي على المتأولين بنبلنا

    في نصرة الحق المبين مُرَيَّشا

    We shoot our arrows at the false interpreters

    In defending the evident truth, honed and ready.

  11. ونظل نرقب نورنا ونذوب في

    إشراقه من حين عارفنا انتشى

    We continue to watch over our light and dissolve in

    Its brilliance, when we knew it joyfully shone.

  12. ونصول في أهل النفوس بربنا

    إن حاولوا الشرف الرفيع تحرشا

    We assault the people of hypocrisy about our Lord,

    If they attempt to diminish his noble sanctuary.

  13. الله أكبر هذه ذات البها

    والحسن أسفرت اللثام المحتشى

    God is great! This being of splendor

    And beauty has removed her veils.

  14. حتى العدى كذبت بما كذبت به

    ووشى بها عند الأجانب من وشى

    Even the enemies now deny what they denied,

    And the slanderers slandered among strangers.

  15. وهي المنزهة المقدسة التي

    أحيى تجليها القلوب وأنعشا

    She is the most pure, the most holy, who

    Revived hearts by her manifestation and gave them life.

  16. وبأمرها ظهرت بما ظهرت ولم

    تزل الغيوب لباسها والمَفْرَشا

    By her command she discloses as she discloses,

    While mysteries remain her garb and cushion.

  17. يا هذه إني بحبك مغرم

    قلق الفؤاد بمهجتي شغف نشا

    O you, truly I am enamored with loving you,

    My restless heart aflame within my ribs!

  18. كيف اتجهت رأيت وجهاً ظاهراً

    خلف البراقع بالجمال منقشا

    How could I resist when I saw a manifest face

    Behind veils, beautifully adorned?

  19. وإذا أردت تجليات جماله

    فأنا التجلي لا وجدتك أطرشا

    And if you desire the disclosure of his beauty,

    I am that disclosure - grant me your audience!

  20. وجه متى نظرت إليه قلوبنا

    بفنائها عنه انجلى وتبشبشا

    A face - when I looked upon it, our hearts

    Were emptied, dissipated in ecstasy by his glory.

  21. ومزيد إنعام بوافر حكمة

    منعته رحمته بنا أن يبطشا

    And exceeding grace and abundant wisdom

    His mercy prevented from afflicting us.

  22. حلم له غلب العقاب فربما

    يعفو عن الجاني وإن هو أفحشا

    Clemency outweighed vengeance for him, thus he may

    Pardon the sinner, however excessive his sins.

  23. طير الرجا أبدا عليه مرفرفٌ

    قد فرَّ في وكر الغيوب وعششا

    The birds of hope forever circle around him,

    Nestled and settled in the bosom of mystery.

  24. شمس بطلعتها خفافيش الورى

    عميت وكان الطرف منها أعمشا

    A sun whose rising blinded the bats of existence

    And made the keenest eyes utterly bleary.

  25. والكائنات كثلجة ذابت بها

    ماء تفرق بالفنا وترششا

    Creation melted before it like snow

    Scattered in dissolution, dripping and streaming.

  26. هي ديننا والدين إن يك غيرها

    لا زال دينا في البرية مخدشا

    It is our religion - and if the religion be other than it

    It would persist as tattered dogma.

  27. مدت علينا رفرفاً من ظلها

    كَرَماً وكَرْماً بالعلوم مُعَرِّشا

    She extended over us the shade of her shelter,

    Generously and bountifully gifting us knowledge.
