I fell in love in Mecca, the radiant one
They call it the Kaaba, explicitly
It is like free, uncovered ankles
How many ardently loving hearts has it left wounded
Veiled from all
Who look upon it, an uncouth foreigner
Only a relative may look upon it
And see its beautiful, shining face
I saw it once during my stay
And my body fell in passionate love with it
I circled it seven times, silently yearning
By my Lord's right, like a lover
That black stone
As if it were a mole on a fair cheek
