1. الفرق سكرٌ لأن العقل يستجدي

    فيه سوى ربه من كثرة الفقدِ

    Difference is intoxication, as the mind begs

    In it other than its Lord due to much loss

  2. مع علمه أنما الجدوى بأجمعها

    لربه الحق من قبل ومن بعد

    Knowing that all benefit in its entirety

    Is for its True Lord before and after

  3. والعقل يقسم في الفرق الوجود إلى

    قسمين قطعاً وجود الرب والعبد

    And the mind divides existence in difference into

    Two parts: the existence of the Lord and the servant

  4. كذلك الجمع سكر حيث لا أحدٌ

    فيه سوى الأحد الحق الذي يجدي

    Likewise unity is intoxication where no one

    Exists other than the One True God who avails

  5. والكل قانونُ في هذا الوجود به

    مثل السراب تراه العين من بعد

    And everything in this existence is by Him

    Like a mirage which the eye sees from afar

  6. وصاحب الفرق ظن الصحوَ حالته

    وحالة الجمع سكرا رائد الحد

    And the person of difference thinks his state sober

    Yet the state of unity is intoxicating the guide

  7. ولم يزل قلبه في غفلة أبداً

    عن الشهود شهود الحق بالعمد

    And his heart has never ceased being heedless

    Of witnessing the witnessing of Truth with purpose

  8. وصاحب الجمع أيضا ظن حالته

    صحواً وحالةَ فرقٍ سكرَ ذي وجد

    And the person of unity also thinks his state

    Awake and the state of difference intoxicating with fervor

  9. وقلبه لم يزل عن خلق خالقه

    في غفلة ويساوي الغي بالرشد

    And his heart has never ceased from the creation of his Creator

    In heedlessness equating the misguided with the right-minded

  10. وحاصل الأمر أن الأمر أكمله

    ما بين جمع وفرق جامع الضد

    And the crux of the matter is that the entire matter

    Is between unity and difference, uniter of opposites

  11. مع أهل فرق له فرقٌ كحالتهم

    ومع أولى الجمع ذو جمع بلا رد

    With people of difference, He has difference like their states

    And with those immersed in unity, a unity without refute

  12. وهو المسمى بجمع الجمع إرثُ هدىً

    عن النبي وعن قطب وعن فرد

    And it is called the unity of unity, inherited guidance

    From the Prophet, the Pole, and the Individual
