روح تغذت بتقوى الله طيبة

قوية ولها الرحمن حرّاسُ

A spirit nurtured by godly piety, good

Strong, and the Merciful are its guards

وجثة نبتت مما يحل لها

من المآكل ما في ضعفها باس

And a body grown from what is permitted to it

Of foods - in its weakness there is no harm

كالغصن ماس به طوراً نسيم صباً

وقام طوراً به والغصن مياس

Like a branch buffeted for a while by the morning breeze

Then it stands straight, while the branch is bent

اجعل طعامك من غير الحرام على

مقدار علمك واترك ما به الباس

Make your food from the non-unlawful

According to your knowledge, and leave what is doubtful

وابشر فإنك إن تحيا مناك تنل

وإن تمت لك من مولاك إيناس

And rejoice - if you live virtuously you will attain

And if you die, refuge from your Master awaits

والحل ينبت في الأعضا موافقة

أما الحرام فعصيان وأرجاس

For the permitted sprouts concurrence in the limbs

While the unlawful is defiance and clatter
