إنما رزقك الذي حزته في

يدك اقنع به بنفس مفيقه

The sustenance that you have earned

Be content with it, with an awakened soul

وتأمل في رزق غيرك تلقا

ه خيالاً لديك ليس حقيقه

And contemplate the sustenance of others

It is but an illusion, not the truth

لا تكن فيه طامعاً مثل كلبٍ

ممسكٍ عظمةً بفيه رقيقه

Do not be greedy like a dog

Holding a bone in its weak jaws

فرأى ظلها بماء فألقا

ها لأخذ التي رأى في الطريقه

Who saw its shadow in water and dropped

The bone to seize the one it saw in the mirage
