عدم للوجود كالأمواجِ

في امتزاج به بغير امتزاجِ

Non-existence is like waves

In an intermingling without intermingling

ثم إنّا ثلاثة وهو فرد

ووجود حق عظيم ابتهاج

Then we are three and He is One

And the existence of Truth is great joy

نحن في ذاتنا وفي العلم أيضاً

والكلام النفسي أصل التناجي

We are in our essence and in knowledge as well

And inner speech is the origin of intimacy

عدم نحن في الثلاث وأما

هو فهو الوجود والأزواج

We are non-existence in the three yet

He is existence and pairs

ربنا الحق قد تنزه عنا

مستحيل الأولاد والأزواج

Our Lord the Truth transcends us

Impossible to have children or pairs

ما ظهرنا به سوى بكلام

أزليٍّ يضيء في ظل داجي

We did not appear except through

An eternal speech that glows in the shadow of twilight

وهو أيضا مراتب ليس تخفى

عن أمام مكمل المعراج

It also has ranks that do not remain hidden

From the one completing the ascent

رتبة الذات قبل رتبة علم

بعدها رتبة الكلام المناجي

The rank of essence before the rank of knowledge

Then the rank of intimate speech

وهو فرد حق ونحن كثير

باطل في كلامنا كالسراج

He is One Truth and we are many

Falsehood in our speech like a lamp

فافهموا ما أقول يا قوم مني

إنني البحر فيه ذو الأمواج

So understand what I say O people

I am the sea in it is the waves

هذه هذه بديعة وقت

سمح الله فيه بالإفراج

This, this is a wonderful time

That God has allowed release in it
