  1. يا بديع الحسن بالصورِ

    جئتنا في هيكل البشرِ

    O most beautiful in appearance through images

    You came to us in the temple of mankind

  2. ثم لما كنت مرتفعاً

    عن وصول العقل والبصر

    Then when you were elevated

    Beyond the reach of intellect and sight

  3. كان ما قد كان منك لنا

    بالقضاء الحق والقدر

    What had happened from you was for us

    By the decree of truth and destiny

  4. كل شيء آية ظهرت

    عبرة فينا لمعتبر

    Everything a sign appeared

    A lesson for those who take heed

  5. وجميع الكون أمثلة

    عند أهل الفهم والنظر

    And all of creation examples

    For the people of understanding and insight

  6. علم قومي كله ورق

    وعلومي فيه كالثمر

    My people's knowledge is all leaves

    And my sciences in it like fruit

  7. وكلامي عند عارفه

    ليس معناه بمستتر

    And my words to the knower of them

    Its meaning is not hidden

  8. لا على معنى الحلول ولا

    باتحاد يا أولي الحذر

    Not in the meaning of incarnation or

    Union O people of caution

  9. لي فؤاد يا وجود قضى

    زيده ما فيك من وطر

    I have a heart O existence decree

    Increase what is in you of fervor

  10. أنت فينا ظاهر أبداً

    كظهور الشمس في القمر

    You are in us manifest forever

    Like the sun's appearance in the moon

  11. أو كمثل الظل يكشف عن

    هيئة الأوراق والشجر

    Or like the image revealing

    The forms of leaves and trees

  12. أو كمرآة يلوح بها

    ما يدانيها من الصور

    Or like a mirror reflecting

    The images nearing it

  13. جل وجه منك نحن له

    سترة في العقل والفكر

    Exalted is the face from you we are

    A veil to it in mind and thought

  14. وظهور في القلوب لمن

    هو من جهل النفوس بري

    And manifestation in the hearts of those

    Free from the ignorance of souls

  15. آمنت قوم ظهرت لهم

    في جميع النفع والضرر

    My people believed you appeared to them

    In all benefit and harm

  16. وجهك الميمون قبلتهم

    وعليه الكل كالقتر

    Your blessed face they accepted

    And upon it all bowed like rain

  17. خرجوا للكائنات كما

    خرج المختار للمطر

    They went out to existence as

    The Chosen went out for rain

  18. ثم قاب القوس منك دنوا

    حين رنت نغمة الوتر

    Then drew the bow from you came near

    When the melody of the string rang out

  19. وسعوا من نحو مروتهم

    للصفا عن سائر الكدر

    They expanded from towards their heights

    To purity from the rest of turbidity

  20. بالسوى ليسوا على خطر

    والسوى منهم على خطر

    On the straight path they are not in danger

    And the straight path from it is in danger
