  1. نزل الحديد فكان سيفاً قاضبا

    قسم العداة مشارقاً ومغاربا

    The iron descended and became a piercing sword

    It divided the enemies into east and west

  2. بأسٌ شديد فيه بل ومنافع

    للناس فليمض المعاند هاربا

    Severe might in it, rather it has benefits

    For people so let the obstinate flee escaping

  3. وبه الأمين عليَّ كان نزوله

    فأسرَّ قلباً بالأمان وقالبا

    With it the trusted one was its descent

    So it captivated a heart with safety and molded it

  4. في ليلة هي ليلة القدر التي

    فيها رسول الله نال مواهبا

    In a night which is the Night of Decree

    In which the Messenger of God received gifts

  5. فأخذته بيدي اليمين حقيقة

    فوجدته أمضى السيوف مضاربا

    So I took it in my right hand in reality

    I found it the most piercing of swords in striking

  6. مقدار أربعة الأصابع قدره

    في طول باع بالرزانة سالبا

    Its measure is four fingers in

    Length an arm with composure unsheathing

  7. فلذا تراني لا أحارب دائماً

    هذا الورى إلا وكنت الغالبا

    Thus you see me not fighting this mortal realm

    Except I was the victor

  8. أما المحبة فهي قلبي والحشا

    بل كل كلي لست فيه كاذبا

    As for love it is my heart and shyness

    Rather my whole self I am no liar in it

  9. رعدت بها مني الضلوع وقد همى

    مطر علينا قبل كان سحائبا

    With it my ribs thundered and it rained

    Upon us before there were clouds

  10. وملئت من أنس الوجوه ووحشة ال

    عدم انقضت ولقد قضيت مآربا

    And I was filled with the intimacy of faces and the desolation of

    Nonexistence passed and I had attained my goals

  11. ولقد أماطت لي بثينة برقعاً

    عن طلعة شمسية وجلاببا

    It unveiled for me a veil from a radiant

    Visage and garments

  12. ومشت بأنواع الغلائل تنجلي

    ودنت تقلب أعينا وحواجبا

    And it walked with varieties of flirtations coquettishly

    And approached turning eyes and eyebrows

  13. وسعت إلى نحوي ولم أك غيرها

    فغدوت مطلوبا ولم أك طالبا

    And reached out towards me and I was not but it

    So I became sought and was not a seeker

  14. هذا الوجود جميعه كلي بلا

    شكٍّ عداةً قد حوى وحبائبا

    This whole existence undoubtedly

    Enemies it contained and loved ones

  15. والخلق ناراً لايزال وجنة

    والأمر أنواراً غدا وغياهبا

    And people are a fire that does not cease and a paradise

    And the matter is lights then darkness

  16. والكل كلي ما معي غيري فلا

    تتعب وكن لي في الجميع مصاحبا

    And everything is me what is with me is not but me so do not

    Tire and be for me in all a companion

  17. وأنا الحقيقة والشريعة لا تقف

    فيصير شيء منهما لك حاجبا

    And I am the reality and the law do not stand

    So something of them becomes a veil for you

  18. وافعل ولا تفعل جيمع أوامري

    واترك ولا تترك لنهيي تائبا

    And do and do not do all my commands

    And leave and do not leave to my prohibition repenting

  19. واقعد وقم وتقاوَ واعجز إن ترم

    وصلي وكن بي طالعاً أو غاربا

    And sit and stand and come close and be incapable if you want

    And pray and be with me rising or setting

  20. فأنا حقيقتك المكلفة التي

    بِأَلَسْتُ قلت لها وكنت مخاطبا

    For I am your reality that
