In it are gatherings like maidens who recline

On carpets though no rain has moistened the meadows

Onto terraces you see its tiles glistening eastwards

Like mirrors in whose reflection forms appear

As though from being watched so long it has blushed

So bashfulness has spread over its beauty's guards

A dome whose beauty is beyond any price

As if in it lie glory and life everlasting

As if it is lined with a carpet of unending roses

Whose warp and weft are fashioned out of them

As if it shook for fear it might slip and fall

So terror shows in its complexion's pallor

A sea whose twin surging waves boil and seethe

O you who see a sea that from twin surges springs!
