أَنعَتُ عيراً مِن عُيورِ القَهرِ

أَقمَرَ مِن شَرِّ حَميرِ قُمرِ

I lamented a caravan from the caravans of oppression

A moon from the evil of a deceitful moon

صُبحُ أَبياتٍ فُدَيكَ يَجري

مُنزِلَةَ اللُؤمِ وَدارِ الغَدرِ

Morning of verses for you flows

To the abode of cowardice and the house of betrayal

فَلَقَيتَهُ عِندَ بابِ العَقرِ

يَنشُطُها وَالدَرعُ عِندَ الصَدرِ

So you met it at the gate of destruction

It rouses it and the armor at the chest

نَشَطُّكَ بِالدَلوِ قَراحَ الجَعفَرِ

Your vigor with the bucket wounds the coward
