1. ريعَ قَلبي لَمّا ذَكَرتُ الدِيارا

    وَتَنوَّرتُ بِالنُخَيلاتِ نارا

    My heart was set ablaze when I recalled the abodes

    And I was illuminated by the palm trees like fire

  2. وَاِزدَهَيتَني ذاتُ السَنا بِبُروقٍ

    مِن لَظاها فَما أُطيقُ اِصطِبارا

    The possessor of whiteness has given me vitality with flashes

    From her brightness, so I cannot show patience

  3. وَالقَريحُ الفُؤادُ يَزدادُ لِلنا

    رِ وَميضَ السَعيرِ مِنها اِستِعارا

    And the mind, the heart, increases in yearning

    For her and the flashing of lightning from her I borrow
