  1. You two, bear my message to Sulayma,

    and ask her for me what

  2. she has done concerning a passionate lover,

    lovesick, ailing, and made to feel anguish.

  3. Indeed, I said to Salma,

    when I knew our parting for certain:

  4. “You are my care, O Sulayma;

    the Lord has irrevocably decreed it.”

  5. By force she came to dwell within the heart,

    in a place that had once been guarded.
