    دي بما قد جنت ثريا عليا

  2. لا تبوحي امام قاضي الهوى با

    سمِ التي ساقتِ المنون إليا

    Do not reveal before the judge of love

    The name of she who brought death to me

  3. لا تقولي إني قضيت الليالي

    ساهراً موجع الفؤادِ شجيا

    Do not say that I spent the nights

    Sleepless, my heart aching intensely

  4. لا تقولي ان التي قتلتني

    قتلت والهاً بريئاً وفيا

    Do not say that she who killed me

    Killed an innocent and loyal lover

  5. يا نجوم السماء ان بحت بالسر

    فربي يطوي سماءكِ طيا

    O stars of the sky, if you reveal the secret

    Then my Lord will fold up your sky

  6. وزوال النجوم أهون من أهون

    شيءٍ يسوءُ بعدي ثريا

    The passing of stars is less significant

    Than anything bad happening after me, O Thuraya

  7. إن تساهرك يا نجومَ السما بعدي

    ثرياً فبلغيها النعيا

    If your sleeplessness outlives me, o stars of the sky

    Then convey the news of my death to her

  8. وسليها الرضى فاني اشتاقُ رض

    اها ميتاً كما كنت حيا

    And ask her satisfaction, for I long for her contentment

    Dead, as I was when alive
