With the white of conversation, maidens with beautiful eyes,
Swaying tendrils, anklets jingling.
Gardens of beauty wandered over
Gardens of plants, red sandalwood.
They stole its anemones with their cheeks
And made its branches shy with their necklaces.
And prepared for their slim-waisted lovers
The whiteness of mouths like a necklace's pearls.
And made their lovers' eyes weep
Tears like the droplets in their pearls.
So they clothed the yellowness of that spring
On their faces with purpose and exclusion.
And after the beauty of the gardens, they left them
Barren wastes matching black with black.
