لم يخلُ قلبيَ من ذِكرْ العزيز وإن

نأي به شُغُلٌ أو عاقه قَدَرُ

My heart cannot be devoid of the memory of the dear one, even if

It is preoccupied or disabled by fate

يرعاك كُلِّي بكُلِّي رَعْىَ مرتقِب

لا رَعْىَ من قادَه الإطماعُ والحذرُ

I guard you with all of me, the guarding of one waiting,

Not the guarding of one led by greed and caution

قلبي عليك رقيب فيك يكلؤني

يا منتهَى أملي والسمعُ والبصرُ

My heart keeps watch over you; in you it shelters me

O apex of my hope, hearing and sight

لا سرَّني العيشُ إلا أن تُسرَّ به

ولا استوى لِيَ إلا عندك العُمُر

Life brings me no joy unless you are made happy by it

And my life equals nothing without you

لو لاك لم تَحْسن الدنيا لساكنها

طِيباً ولا أشرقت شمس ولا قمر

If it weren't for you, the world would not be sweet

For its inhabitants, nor would the sun shine or the moon
