بقِيتَ أبا عبدِ الإله مسلِّماً
سعيداً لِتشييد المكارم والمجدِ
You remained, Abul Abdillah, content
Happy to build virtues and glory
يزيد مع الأيام وُدّك جِدَّةً
إذا حال فيها كلُّ خِلّ عن الوُدّ
Your affection increases as days go by
When every grudge parts from affection
ومِثلُك من يزداد عُقْدُ إخائه
وفاءً إذا لم يَبقَ خِدْنٌ على عَقْد
And one like you, his bond of brotherhood grows
More faithful when no rancor remains in the bond
وما زلتَ حُرَّ النفس في السُّخط والرضا
كريمَ السجايا ماجدَ القَبْل والبَعْد
You still have a free soul whether angry or pleased
Noble traits, glorious before and after
