دواء نعمان من أدوائنا شافي

بعد الإله وكاف أيما كافي

Nu'man's medicine is the best of cures

After Allah, it suffices however much suffices

يعطي الحياة ولا يبغي لها عوضا

إلا ثناء كوشي اليمنة الضافي

It gives life and asks no recompense

Except praise like a full Yemeni cup

رأى الذي اكتنّ في جسمي فأدركه

كأنّ جسمي غدير عنده صافي

It saw the pain hidden in my body and grasped it

As if my body was a clear pool to it
