وإذا تَأمّلْتَ الوداع رأيتَه

دمعاً يفيض على الخدود دماءَ

When you contemplate farewell, you see it is

A tear overflowing as blood on cheeks.

وَلَوَ أنّ قلبي فيك أُعطِيَ سُؤْلَه

يوم الفِراق لفارقَ الأحشاء

If my heart could grant you its plea

On the day we part, it would leave my guts.
