Take it, sweeter than murmuring and kisses

And leave your blames, time itself finds fault

And do not obey in youth blame or rebuke

May God not bless the blamer and the rebuked

And a morning where play has packed its bags

With us, at ease, and lavender and flirtation

The flute complains to the pair of its fervor

A lover's complaint to the beloved at leisure

As if the beating sound of drums between them

Is the clamor of my father al-Mansour’s glory in power
