My poetry, though glory adorns it with pearls,

Is but a tenth of what you have encompassed, so forgive me.

I know my sin, though when I recite, they say

I am the most eloquent poet.

I am awed by the opposites of your generosity,

That in you are combined both odd and even.

You are a sun, you are a shining full moon,

Not just anyone who wishes can be a sun or moon.

And they say there is a sea on earth -

They lie, none but your palm is a sea.

They have not seen your palm scattering pearls

And treasures when it begins to rain and hail.

I have filled the sky with prayers to you

And filled the lands and earth with thanks.
