أخَفّف تسليمي وأُصفِي مودَّتي

وأطوى على نصحي لك القلب والصدرا

وإني إذا ما غِبتُ عنك لناظِرٌ

إليك بقلب منك ممتلئ فِكرا

And truly when I am absent from you, I am a watcher

Looking to you with a heart full of thoughts of you

ويذكر قلبي حسْن وجهك إن رأى

شبيهك في إشراقك الشمس والبدرا

And my heart remembers the beauty of your face when it sees

Your likeness in the radiance of the sun and the moon
