إن كان غَرَّكَ منّي

صبري عليكَ وذُلّي

If my patience with you

And my humility upset you,

فو الذي أَنا مِنه

حقّاً بأَعلى المَحَلّ

By He from whom I came,

I truly deserve the highest place,

لأَزجرنّ فؤادي

عنكْم بِبعضي وكُلّى

I will restrain my heart

From you all with some and all of me,

وأَتركَنَّك فَرْداً

تبكي على فقدِ خِلّ

And I will leave you alone

Crying over the loss of a friend.
